Why do conversations flow more easily through a mirror than face to face, even with someone I’ve grown familiar with? Looking back, most of the conversations at the hair salon I’ve been going to for nearly ten years have happened through the mirror. Even though the hairdresser is right in front of me, perhaps I had come to remember them as someone who exists in the mirror. While creating the artwork for WELD’s third anniversary, I found myself thinking about this.
